Lucky Duck Photo Shananigans

I got a call from the East Valley Tribune asking for a statement from Lucky Duck Consignment about being voted Best in Ahwatukee, which I was happy to give while shopping with my four year old.  Then they asked for a picture for the paper......ummmm that was a little trickier. Ang came over and we asked our 8 year olds to take our picture. We took about a hundred.  Some had our kids in the background, some had us turning around to check on our children in the background, my favorite was when after waiting a few minutes I stood up to help Mary with the button and the camera clicked right at that moment and Ang lost it! We both did.  But I think we got one that will work.  Fun times!

Children's Museum

Mary just started a class with Valley Youth Theater that is down town.  While she is there for an hour Rachel, Becky and I hit the Children's Museum.  I am so glad for this chance we have there because the girls really have the best time exploring.  They really like going through a noodle forest (it is a forest of hanging pool noodles), painting a giant castle, climbing on the tree house, riding bikes through the car wash, visiting the grocery store and making ice cream cones in the ice cream shop.

Cookie Season, Year 3

On Saturday morning I woke up at 7 and headed to Christie's house where we drove to ASU and entered a parking lot with thousands and thousands of boxes of cookies.  It has become a little tradition of ours. We were only picking up a mere 700 boxes.  From there we load them into the truck, drive home and unload them into the house, separate them and the girls come to pick them up.  Then the texts come in for more and I go to the cookie cupboard (a wonderful volunteers garage) to pick up MORE cookies.  It really is kind of like a part time job.  The benefit is worth it!  These girls really like feeling in charge of a little cookie business and learn a lot from it.  Trust me they are because after collecting them all I am not going to be selling them! Look, I even had help unloading!

Family Night

Thank you to Murray for making family night happen!  We have been reading a chapter out of the Book of Mormon as part of our family nights.  Monday the girls asked to keep reading!  Becky has been reading some too.  It is definitely one of my favorite times of the week!  Rachel asked if she could take a Book of Mormon to her friend at school.  Sweet girl!

Ironing

Becky pulled out this little ironing board, gathered socks and went to work.  Becky likes to have tasks and jobs to do.  She often asks "Can I help you Mom?"  I must say she is a very good helper and is often the first to run and do what Murray and I ask. Sweet girl!

Alice in Wonderland

Mary enjoys children's theater SO MUCH! This semester's production is Alice in Wonderland. She learned this on Thursday and on Friday performed this for me with her added moves on the last few lines.  Her memory really amazes me!  Watching this just makes me happy!  We are excited to see what part she will have, there are so many good ones!
